Workshop and book presentation: "The career of my dreams!"

What if tomorrow you would wake up and you just know that what you will do today will somehow get you where you want to be…? That what you’re about to do will be useful, joyful, valuable, no regrets…? What if this would really only require 3 things?

In times of economic crisis, is there any point in discussing your career? Shouldn’t we just be happy to have a job or frantically look for a new one? Now, more then ever, is a time to be the entrepreneur of your own life. About 50% of the women in a recent study state they expect their employers to take care of their careers. Too bad: you are the owner of your life and career, and putting your faith in someone else’s hands for this crucial element is a vulnerable choice.

Even if we’ll ever see the end of the current economic crisis, things will never be the same. Full-‐time and lifetime employment is a thing from the past. So more than ever before, you’re at the wheel. Your employer, if you have one, is one element in shaping your future. But bottom-‐line, it’s you who decides what’s a useful way to spend your energy and to keep building your career, skills and employability.

It only takes 3 things to empower yourself to, whatever comes on your way make choices that stick with who you are and where you want to be. During this 2-‐hour workshop, you’ll experience these 3 elements: knowing where you want to be, defining on first steps, and deciding who to talk to.

Our Speaker: Els Deboutte

Els Deboutte is coach and trainer. She has a passion for building entrepreneurship and self-‐ reliance with groups and individuals, in their careers and in their collaborations. She is truly convinced that most people have a huge underused potential and that the solution often lies right in front of our noses. Her program Make me Fly! originates from the observation that, much to the surprise of men, women don't do themselves right in their careers (www.makemefly.be). Els just published her first happy-‐feel-‐good-‐do-‐it-‐yourself-‐career-‐ handbook “Geef je Carrière weer Vleugels!”, a career guide full of easy-‐to-‐do exercises and practical advice from a 20 years HR background. The book is available in Dutch at the Kluwer e-‐shop. Make me Fly! is an Elsewhere Consulting program (www.elsewhereconsulting.be)
