PWI Brussels Networking event: Our Member's Voice

Digital disruption and its impact on our lives

Join us at Le Châtelain Brussels Hotel to share a friendly moment over a glass of wine or our special PWI signature cocktail to start the year in style! Meet other PWI members and the extended PWI friends' crowd to mingle, network and enjoy yourself.

We have special surprises lined-up for you to make sure that the event is both an occasion to socialise and an opportunity to grow and build new skills that are crucial for professional women to succeed and participate in creating a more gender balanced leadership structure within their own professional networks and organisations.

Member's Voice

This time will welcome our PWI Brussels member, Amina Alaoui, Global Process and Operational Intelligence Packaging Leader at Cargill. In her work, Amina focuses a lot on Smart Factories and Sustainability. During our Networking she will reflect on the advancing digitalisation of the world and the impact it has on our lives.

Join us to discuss together around the following ideas:

* what is the digital world of today and what impact does it have on our professional and private lives?

* how can we manage the digital disruption that is part of our day-to-day business these days?

* what are some concrete examples of digital disruption we're facing? Looking at the examples in smart manufacturing

* what opportunities does digitalisation bring to women in STEAM?

About our speaker:

Amina Alaoui is a world citizen. She lived in Morocco until 18 years-old, and then moved to the UK to get her graduate degree in Technology Management. That is where her passion for new Technologies and Data comes from. She entered the professional life early on but decided to go back to University in Exeter by the age of 26. She obtained a scholarship and completed an MBA in Finance.

Amina says she accidentally entered the corporate life but it drove her ambition to develop a career that would be equal to that of her male colleagues. She is now leading the Digital Transformation in Smart Manufacturing in Packaging area in Cargill.

Amina believes to be on a life learning journey and she always looks for opportunities to improve her communication skills. She is very goal oriented with a clear and concise vision of her future objectives.

Amina currently lives in Belgium, in a "boys" house with her 9 and 6 year old sons and a beloved Belgian husband. She has realized to be in a gender minority in her own house, while she grew up in a house with mainly women around her. She had to start teaching gender equality to her sons :-)

Come and get to know Amina and her work, and discuss with our fellow PWI Members and friends!
