Why a magazine for PWI?

Were you ever concerned when reading comments regarding the disproportion between men and women in professions, such as journalists, columnists, novelists, bloggers, writers and new media contributors?

I feel touched by this info and I wonder whether women - who have excellent language and verbal skills - are still either reluctant to write or they are struggling against a glass ceiling in the media sector, or both?
This inspired me to create a brand-new quarterly review: the "PWI Magazine".

Our magazine is organised in five regular sections:

  • Topic of the edition, a section, whose theme changes for each edition
  • Editorial
  • Management
  • Women& Career
  • Labour Market/Professions
  • Miscellaneous
Our magazine is an opportunity for contributors, who foster PWI values, to:
  • Express their opinions
  • Debate management issues
  • Discuss cultural and self-development topics
  • Raise visibility about their profile and story
  • Share their contribution towards gender balance & inclusion
  • Diffuse knowledge

The PWI Magazine is not only a chance for contributors, but also a source of information and inspiration for our readership, and a vehicle to get in contact with the article writers or the interviewees.

How to contribute to the PWI Magazine?

  • Content
  • We encourage our readership to contribute to the content of the PWI Magazine in order to make it a more vibrant and participative communication arena:
Article submission - Members and Non-members are invited to send their article with a photo in .jpg  format and contact details to the PWI Editorial Team:  admin@pwi.be
Interview – Because of the demands of the professional’s schedule, people may struggle to find the time to submit their articles, therefore, we offer the opportunity for an interview. Interviews will need to be scheduled well in advance to fit in with the Editor’s time availability.
Members and Non-members, who would prefer to contribute through an interview, are invited to contact the PWI Editorial Team:
admin@pwi.be

Feedback

  • We would like to receive our readership’s feedback on the PWI Magazine, their suggestions for additional subjects and recommendations about its structure.
  • Please send your feed-back, suggestion and recommendation to the PWI Editorial Team: admin@pwi.be

Making a Wish

This quote makes me hope that women will soon bloom in the professions linked to writing, expressing themselves and their opinions in the media:

“And the time came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom”  Anais Nin
